Dinner time with the family is a time of day we all look forward to. But with many of us leading very busy lives, dinner time can become a source of stress. Well, that’s why I am excited to bring you a new series, 30-minute dinners! Every Monday, I will be sharing quick and easy meals you can get on the table in no time. But, don’t you worry though, We will not be skimming on flavor at all. These lettuce wraps are my new favorite thing and it’s the perfect way to kick off this series.
Now you already know versatility is very important to me when it comes to developing a new recipe. I always want you to see yourself making this dish in your own home. This dish is no different. If you aren’t a fan of pork, use ground beef, turkey or chicken. You can also create other combinations with different vegetables and toppings.
LETTUCE WRAPS COMBINATIONS:
Like I mentioned before, the possibilities are endless when it comes to something like lettuce wraps. There’s so much room to play with when it comes to textures and flavors.
- A more kid-friendly option: If you are making this for just the kids, I would first suggest using chicken, ground or cut into pieces. And then add vegetables like finely minced carrots and zucchini.
- Another option is to add more Asian flavors like ginger, water chestnuts, scallions or bean sprouts.

Easy nut-free lettuce wraps. The perfect way to get dinner on the table in no time.
1 lb ground pork
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 small purple onion, diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and sliced
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
salt and pepper
2 tbsp coconut aminos
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
salsa (if you’re on a Whole30 or the Keto diet, make sure there is no sugar added)
To begin, Heat a large skillet over high heat and add the pork to the pan. Break up the pork and cook until it’s brown, about 3-5 minutes.
Lower the heat to medium-high and add the bell pepper, onion, jalapeño pepper and garlic to the pan. Season with a few pinches of salt and pepper and continue to cook until the peppers are tender, about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
Now, add the coconut aminos and pepper flakes and toss to combine.
Allow the pork mixture to cool for a few minutes and serve inside of the lettuce leaves. Top with salsa and avocado slices.
